I started computing (with DOS operating system) in around 1998. It was a rare phenomenon then. It was totally different. So were many other things in my personal us. Newspapers were written with longhand and or composed alphabet by alphabet. Photos were taken developed and then plate transferred on paper.

And now! Remember when Apple surprised users with the first appearance of the MacBook Air, the world’s (then) thinnest notebook. Imagine in 1998, Apple users were as happy to use their first iMac, the Bondi Blue. Yes, it was marketed as a  computer for the Internet age – hence the “i” of iMac. These electronic devices can be used to read media such as books, magazines, and newspapers. As users view these materials they can write notes, highlight text, and bookmark pages. The e-readers also have an audio player allowing users to listen to audio books or mp3s. Additionally, some models of e-readers may have a built-in dictionary or a web browser.

The program started at FDU allows students to check out an e-reader for one week with the option to renew it for a second week. Some reference books and literature are already pre-loaded on the e-readers but students can also load their own books. Land Rover gave its news Discovery a minor facelift along with relatively low-key updates. Already on its fourth generation, Land Rover’s highly versatile luxury SUV gets a more powerful and highly efficient engine that goes well with a new exterior identity and a stately interior. The model that it is replacing boasts of more than 100 international accolades under its belt, so much is expected from the Discovery 4.
